LG DS95TR

I was able to test the product for a few weeks. The LG S95TR is an excellent soundbar. It offers impressive sound and many functions, especially in combination with an LG TV. Although the price is on the high side, this is outweighed by the quality and ease of use. Installing and calibrating the 9.1. 5 channel system is smooth, even with multiple components. Downsides are the simple LED display and that some functions have to be operated via an app, which can be inconvenient. For those looking for a sound system that matches the performance of a full-fledged home theater, this is an excellent choice. However, for smaller rooms it may be too extensive.

We have had an LG TV for years and never seriously considered buying one. But when we got the chance to test it, also an LG, we were surprised by the experience of this device. First of all, it comes in a good box, clearly packaged, good manual included, very complete. The installation was a bit of a puzzle for us, but that was not due to the soundbar but our clumsiness. And then, TV on, download app and play... to be blown off the couch afterwards. What a sound, wow. That was quite different from the sound of the TV alone. Beautiful, good quality too, even with the music DVDs. Although it can come across as a bit tinny if you don't turn the volume button up quite high. But you quickly do that with music, at least we do. We are convinced, such a soundbar is an enrichment. And it is obvious that we chose LG, we are very satisfied with the quality of the products, from washing machine to TV and now this soundbar. So maybe this will convince us after all?

I had the chance to test the LG soundbar with an LG B4 television, and my experience was mostly positive.

The soundbar comes in a large and heavy box, which contains the soundbar itself, a subwoofer, two rear speakers, cables, brackets and a remote control. The design of the soundbar is sleek and looks good in a modern living room. However, it is quite wide and heavy, which you should keep in mind when installing it.

The installation is done via the LG Soundbar app. At first it seemed easy, but when I wanted to set up the WiFi, something went wrong. Only after several attempts and a reset of both the soundbar and the app, I managed to establish the WiFi connection. This was a bit disappointing, because the soundbar seems limited in functionality without WiFi.

After installation, I placed the speakers and connected them via a button on the back. Sometimes it took a while, but in the end everything went smoothly.

The sound from the soundbar is powerful and clear, but I found the bass to be on the weak side, even after adjusting the settings. This was surprising, considering the large subwoofer that comes with it. Perhaps I missed a setting.

Calibrating the speakers via the app is easy, although the sounds that reverberate through the room are quite loud. A little warning in advance would not have been out of place here.

The television recognizes the soundbar without any problems and works seamlessly with the TV. With an LG TV you can use the WOW function, which also turns on the TV speakers, which gives a real cinema feeling, especially with Dolby enabled.

Spotify works without any problems and the sound is great. It takes some getting used to the sound that is everywhere in the room, but I mean that in a positive way.

The AI functionalities are present, but so far I have not noticed any difference.
