At first I had trouble connecting the motion sensor to the base station, but I eventually succeeded.

When the sensor detects movement you will receive a notification fairly quickly and the acoustic alarm will be activated immediately. You have to give this a correct tone, because it is not really very loud in itself. It is an annoying sound.
