Philips Shaver i9000 Prestige XP9208/30

I shave for the first time with a rotary shaver. Thanks to the pressure and motion sensors and the app, I quickly pick it up and shave thoroughly. The app is especially useful for novice users.

Unpacking and installing The shaver comes in a nice box in which everything is separately and well packaged. In addition to the shaver, I get handy accessories; a beard trimmer attachment, a storage case, a charging stand and a cleaning station. When unpacking the shaver, I immediately install the app, so that I have more control and insight into how I shave. This was easy and quick. I turn on the shaver and it automatically connects to the app. This way, I can start shaving right away.

Shaving with the right pressure It was the first time for me to shave with a rotary shaver head, and it certainly took some getting used to. Fortunately, the shaver has various tools that help me with this. The light ring under the shaver head indicates whether I am applying too hard, too soft or the right pressure to my skin. I can also see in the app whether I am making the right rotating movements, so that I get the best result. This ensures that I quickly pick it up and get used to the new shaver. I noticed that the more often I used the shaver, the more satisfied I became with the shaving result.

Shaving with the app The app gives me useful insights into how I shave. I can find out whether I have applied the right pressure, whether I have made the right movements, but also how long I have shaved. In addition, I can see in the timeline how the rest of the week went. Furthermore, the app shows what percentage the battery is, when the shaving head needs to be replaced and when I need to refill the cleaning fluid. I also received notifications on my phone when the battery was almost empty. This way I don't forget to charge it. I do think that I will use the app less over time. Once I know how I shave best, the light ring on the device is sufficient.

Accessories The accessories supplied are very useful. The cleaning station keeps the shaver clean and hygienic. With the trimmer I trim my beard when it is a bit fuller. However, I only change the length setting in whole numbers, instead of intermediate options. This gives me less control over how long I let my beard grow. Furthermore, the storage case is handy if I want to take the shaver with me on a trip.

cleaning, one has to take the head off which is difficult. and the clippers to trim the hairs of eyebrows, ears and nose must also remove the head. the material of the device also leaves something to be desired. It is made of plastic and feels very delicate.

Been using it for 2 weeks now and it doesn't disappoint.
