I think the Samsung Neo QLED QN90F is a beautiful TV, especially in a bright room. Thanks to the mini-LED screen, I can watch bright, high-contrast images and enjoy a realistic viewing experience. Even in our brightly lit test room, everything on the screen remains clearly visible and full of color. The TV has a Glare Free coating. Thanks to this layer, the screen has a matte appearance and I don't see any annoying reflections. Unfortunately, the QN90F does not have Dolby Vision support, which means I am sometimes limited to less good versions such as HDR10.
Clear image through mini-LED local dimming
Like all other Samsung Neo QLED TVs, the QN90F uses mini-LED local dimming. Thousands of small LED lights behind the screen illuminate or dim the pixels on the image. This makes the screen bright and I see a great contrast between dark and light parts of the image. I can watch series with many dark scenes, such as Game of Thrones, without any problems. No matter how dark a scene is, I can see exactly what is happening. The same applies to very light scenes. I find the colours vibrant and I can clearly distinguish between different colour shades.
Glare Free and matte screen
The QN90F has a matte, Glare Free screen. I find this a big plus. This way I don't suffer from reflections and I can see every detail. Whether you like the matte screen is a matter of taste. This way I can still see the source of the reflections a little, which not everyone will like. If you set the brightness high, this is less noticeable and the QN90F is a very nice TV.
High refresh rate for gaming
Samsung's QN90F supports a refresh rate of 100 hertz for films, series and games. On a powerful gaming PC, this refresh rate even goes up to 165 hertz. This way the TV shows 100 to 165 frames per second and I don't miss any fast movements. Whatever I watch, it appears as smoothly as possible. In practice, a lot of content is still made for 50 hertz, so I don't always see this. This high refresh rate is especially nice if you game a lot or if you want to be ready for the future.
