Segway Navimow i220 LiDAR Pro

My new acquisition: the Navimow i220 Lidar Pro robotic lawnmower.

General I was looking for a robotic lawnmower with more power and features than my old one, which had little power, no full battery life, and no app. The Navimow i220 Lidar Pro, on the other hand, is truly a marvel of technology! Everything is focused on pure ease of use, innovation, and precision.

I initially looked at the i210 Lidar Pro, but due to the larger battery, I opted for the i220 Pro after all, despite the hefty price difference. This allows me to mow my front and back gardens in one go without intermediate charging. For my garden, this robot is actually overkill, but I do appreciate a bit of extra "horsepower" and refined technology.

Operation The robot works fine and produces a nice mowing pattern after mowing a few times in various directions, ensuring no streaks appear in the lawn. It also doesn't whine or complain about tougher or slightly too long grass and uneven ground. No problem, it just pulls right through with its AWD. In my tricky front garden, it gracefully avoids all the bushes and mows around them. Furthermore, it never got stuck or bumped into anything. It is also very quiet; it can easily work even at night! One downside, however, is the edge mowing; about 15 to 20 centimeters of grass remains at the edges. So that will require manual work or trimming. But all the other options are a real treat, which makes up for a lot.

Maintenance It is also nice that you can rinse the robot with a garden hose. Just brush off dirt and grass clippings and then rinse it off. What you do have to watch out for are the blades. Grass gets stuck in them easily, and then they can jam. However, that is a disadvantage of the "razor blade system." I just remove the grass clippings with a toothbrush. (definitely do not do this with your fingers!)

Navimow app

The Navimow app for tablet or phone is clear, excellent, and well-organized. You can use it to configure everything, and it works fine. However, I did encounter a small problem: creating an "isolated" zone took some puzzling, because my front and back gardens are completely separated by my home. Consequently, the robot cannot drive freely from the charging station in the backyard to the front garden. You have to carry the robot there and start it using the buttons on the robot itself (not via the app). After the mowing task is finished, it stops, and you have to bring it back to the charging station yourself. The user manual was brief on how to set up that zone. Thanks to a YouTube video, I figured out exactly how to do this, and since then, everything has been working perfectly!

Satisfied?

Yes. I am now a satisfied user and hope that the durability is also excellent. But time will tell. For now, thanks to Navimow's three-year warranty, there is no cause for concern!

However, a small warning is in order here: apart from its excellent usability, this robot has quite a high gadget factor!

Easy installation

My garden is quite complex, with multiple zones and a woodland edge. Because of that woodland edge, the automatic mapping didn't work well: the mower kept driving into the woods because it detected green in the distance. Fortunately, manual mapping (driving the mower along the edges yourself via the app) worked excellently. It now mows neatly along the woodland edge as well.

The app In the app, you can further refine the boundaries afterwards. For example, you can have it drive partially over the patio tiles for a clean edge. The app offers many functions: you can set the maximum temperature at which it is allowed to mow, whether it is allowed to work in the rain, and how long it must wait after rain. Additionally, there are extensive scheduling options, different mowing heights per zone, and clear mowing reports.

Beautiful mowing result

The mower drives in perfectly straight lines and shifts 60 degrees with every mowing pass, ensuring a nice, even result. It can mow for about 3 hours before returning to recharge. It also handles slopes well. Be careful with differences in elevation

A ditch runs along my garden, and that is where things went wrong the first time: the mower did not detect a drop and fell down. I solved this by setting the boundary in the app a bit further from the edge.

We opted for a more expensive version given the size of our garden (> 1000m2).

It has been in use for 14 days now and we are very satisfied.

You download the app and you're ready to go immediately. Very user-friendly.

Of course, we do not yet know how durable the robotic lawnmower will ultimately prove to be.
