An advantage of the included PMPC03 is that the camera goes into parking mode when the car is turned off. It then records a time-lapse, or you can set it to record in the event that it detects something. The PMPC03 can be set to multiple voltage levels so that if you do not use the car for an extended period, it does not drain the battery. It automatically switches off parking mode if the battery gets too low to prevent you from being unable to start the car. (Often only applicable after a few days of inactivity).
