Marshall Heston Sub 200 Cream

The Marshall Heston Sub 200 is a fine subwoofer with a classic design. It immediately reminds me of an old Marshall guitar amplifier. This is mainly due to the black design with gold accents. The bass tones are deep enough, and the subwoofer sounds good even at lower volumes. Connecting to the soundbar is a bit cumbersome, which I find unfortunate. This is due to the clunky app, which is also required to set up the subwoofer.

Deep bass tones The Heston Sub 200 delivers deep bass tones, even at lower volumes. I consider this a major plus. This is because many subwoofers only perform well at awkwardly high volumes. I am not worried about this with the Heston Sub 200. I combine it with the Marshall Heston 60 and enjoy subtle, realistic bass tones. I connect the Heston 200 wirelessly to the Heston 60. Unfortunately, this takes me a few attempts. The subwoofer is recognized, but no sound comes out. Fortunately, after a number of resets, the subwoofer works after all. Classic design

This subwoofer immediately reminds me of a classic Marshall guitar amplifier. For instance, the subwoofer features the same black design, gold accents, and similar gold knobs as an old Marshall JTM45. As a result, the subwoofer clearly stands out in our interior. At the same time, the subwoofer is very small. So, I easily find a spot for it next to the TV setup.

Simple settings Once connected, I set up the Heston Sub 200 easily. The subwoofer has a volume knob on the back, and I find the rest of the settings in the Marshall app. In addition to the volume, I have access to the Phase and Cutoff settings here. With these settings, you tune the bass tones to your room and sound system. In practice, I use these rarely and adjust the subwoofer volume to match the soundbar.
