LG OLED 55" G6 (2026) + LG DSC9S

My previous TV was a plasma from 2012, so it's a huge improvement in picture and brightness. The sound is also very good; normally I use home theater, but that's for later. I find the remote too busy; the numbers could go.

Since we’ve had this 77-inch LG hanging in our home, we watch movies together much more often. The large OLED screen really makes a difference. The contrast is beautiful and movie scenes look impressive. Even from older films and series, thanks to AI optimization. Colors are rich without the image feeling unnatural, and the amount of detail is amazing.

We were a bit curious beforehand how an OLED TV would perform in our fairly bright living room. Fortunately, it turned out much better than expected. The picture is easy to watch even during the day. We only find Filmmaker Mode a bit dark then. In our opinion, that setting is mainly suitable for the evening with little light. With the other picture modes, you can easily adjust the image to the time of day.

The sound of the TV is good on its own as well. However, we actually think an additional sound system fits well with this TV. We have a soundbar and can use the sound from both simultaneously. That gives movies just a little more impact.

We also think the TV looks very nice. The TV is really thin and hangs very flush against the wall thanks to the LG bracket, even though there is a bit of cable thickness in between in our setup. This isn't necessary with the bracket, but our cables come out of the middle of the TV and not from the bottom/left, so it can't lie completely flat against the wall. It is a pretty big screen, but because it hangs so flat, it doesn't look bulky. Highly recommended if you love movies and series.

What an amazing TV this is!

The colors displayed by this TV are truly beautiful, and combined with the brightness, it makes for a truly wonderful TV viewing experience.

Despite the glossy screen, the reflection from this TV is not too bad; during the day, you can still watch the TV comfortably without being bothered by reflections from sunlight, for example. LG has improved this significantly in recent years.

Furthermore, I find the sound coming from the TV to be good enough; the bass sounds good, and for a not-too-large living room, the TV gets loud enough.

The TV's software is nice and fast, as always, and apps launch quickly.

A minor downside of the TV is the remote control; I personally don't think it feels very premium, but what I dislike is that the input button has also been removed. LG, please bring this back!

Otherwise, I can say that I definitely recommend the LG OLED EVO G6!
