Second Chance
Second Chance.
Love at second sight. What's Second Chance?
At Coolblue, we give products a second chance. A Second Chance product has had a previous owner or was in our store. We only sell products that are in good condition and work well. With a Second Chance product, you do something good for the environment and your wallet. That's because you pay less, but get the same warranty as with a new product.
How were Second Chance products used?
What's a returned product?
A returned product was used by a customer for a short time. Think of someone who wants to check whether the coffee machine fits on their counter. Sometimes, a customer decides to send the product back. We thoroughly check and clean it. If necessary, we also repair it. It then deserves a second chance and is sold again.
What are showroom products?
Showroom products were in our store. Customers viewed and tested them there. For example, headphones someone tried on to see if they're comfortable and have good sound. Or a fridge that's in the store so you can see how large it is and how many drawers it has. Before the products are sold as Second Chance, we check them with much care.
What's an old subscription product?
An old subscription product was in a customer's house for a maximum of 3 years. After canceling their subscription, the product is returned to our warehouse. We check it thoroughly, clean it, and repair it when necessary. You'll receive an extra discount, because we want to make it attractive to make this sustainable choice.

How old is a Second Chance product?
Most Second Chance products are no older than 30 days. They were barely used by the previous owner. Sometimes, an older product is returned after a repair, for example. The product is still suitable for a second chance even then. We want to be honest about how old the product is, so you know exactly what you buy. That's why we make a clear difference between younger and older products. The longer the product was used, the higher the discount you receive. A product is never older than 3 years.
What types of Second Chance products are there?
Undamaged Second Chance
An undamaged Second Chance product looks like new. The product was just taken out of the box and tested shortly. You won't see any traces of use and the products works like you expect it to.
Damaged Second Chance
A damaged Second Chance product has visible traces of use. For example, scratches, dents, or small damages on or around the product. Sometimes, there are fine scratches of the edge, side, or bottom. The screen can have light scratches or dead pixels, but the product works well. We want to be clear about what you can expect. That's why you can always see where the damage is and what kind of damage it is on the product page. And we'll take photos, so you know exactly what you get.
