5 tips for cleaning your barbecue
Cleaning a barbecue isn't a fun chore after a nice meal. Still, it's important for the lifespan of your barbecue to clean it properly every time. That's why we'll share some tips to easily keep your barbecue clean.
With these 5 tips, you can clean your barbecue
- Don't let dishes burn
- Don't wait until the next day
- Don't forget the barbecue itself
- How to clean your charcoal barbecue
- How to clean your gas or electric barbecue
1. Don't burn dishes
Before you start barbecuing, grease the rack with sunflower oil or olive oil. This way, meat or vegetables don't stick to it and won't burn as easily. Another useful way to maintain the grill rack is with lemon juice. Cut a lemon in half and rub it over the rack while grilling. Grease from the meat won't stick to the rack as easily as a result. This saves you a lot of time cleaning your barbecue.
2. Don't wait until the next day
Don't wait until the next day to clean. Food rests, grease, and other residues will be hardened and stuck to the rack. Use cleaning products to help cleaning your barbecue. Make sure that the rack is still a bit warm, so you can easily remove food rests with a steel brush. Is the rack clean? Grease it with vegetable oil to prevent rust.
3. Don't forget the barbecue itself
Prevent rust and damage to the ceramic part by cleaning the casing after every barbecue session. Don't use any aggressive cleaners, but use a mild cleaner that degreases well. Don't use scouring pads and instead use a soft cloth to keep your barbecue nice and shiny. Afterwards, cover the barbecue with a cover to keep it shiny for the next season
4. How to clean your charcoal barbecue
After barbecuing, remove all food rests and ash from the tub of the charcoal barbecue. If you leave this in, it'll produce smoke during the next barbue session. Clean the tub with warm water, dish soap, and a cloth. Remove caked on rests with a wire brush.
5. How to clean your gas or electric barbecue
Cleaning a gas barbecue or electric barbecue is a bit faster. First, remove the largest food rests from the rack and close the lid. Turn on the barbecue at the highest setting and wait about 15 minutes. Then, brush away all the burned parts. With an electric barbecue, always unplug the connector from the socket before you use water.
