Suspicious messages and phishing

How can I recognize a suspicious message or phishing email?

You can recognize suspicious messages or phishing emails by:

  • Links that you need to click to claim your discount or gift card
  • Requests for login information
  • Attached files
  • Spelling mistakes, bad formatting, or logos and images that aren't from Coolblue
  • Instructions to track a shipment when you haven't ordered anything
  • Extreme discounts or promotions. If in doubt, check our website
  • Contests that require you to leave your details via a link

What can I do if I responded to a suspicious message of phishing email?

It's important to act if you entered your information on a suspicious website or clicked on a phishing link

Did you enter your username and password somewhere?
Change your password on your work account right away. Do the same for other websites where you use the same password.

Did you make a payment?
Contact your bank right away and have the payment cancelled.

I received a suspicious message. Did this really come from Coolblue?

This message probably isn't from Coolblue, but from someone impersonating Coolblue. This person might want to: find out your personal information. For example, your NAW information or your password.
lure you with fake promotions or high discounts to steal your money.

You can receive these types of messages via your email, social media, WhatsApp, and SMS. You can also encounter suspicious websites. Read "How do I recognize a suspicious message?" to learn how to recognize suspicious messages or phishing emails.

What does Coolblue doe against fake messages, fake emails, and phising?

We do everything we can to prevent these types of messages. A team within Coolblue works on this daily and they do their best to take everything offline as soon as possible. This doesn't always work, because online fraudsters work from all over the world. This allows them to send new messages very quickly. That's why it's important for you to stay alert and to be able to recognize such messages. To learn more, you can go to the government website Safeonweb.be.

What can I do with a suspicious message or phishing email?

If you received a suspicious message or phishing email, it's important to not enter any information. Don't click on any links and don't open files. Delete the email and empty your trash can.
