According to our tripod expert
Useful in places where a tripod isn't practical or allowed.
When folded up, the tripod is only 38cm tall.
The 6 legs slide out to 154cm.
No tripod head is included.
In some situations, you can't use a tripod or it's very impractical. Think of a concert, a sports event, or a busy location. A monopod is a very useful and compact alternative. When folded, the Sirui Monopod P-306 is only 38cm. You can extend the legs in 6 sections until the tripod reaches a height of 154cm. If you add a tripod head to the monopod, you get more freedom of movement.
I only recently bought this monopod and have used it a few times anyway. It is easy to carry, not too heavy and certainly not too big. What I also find very practical is the retractable metal pin at the bottom, which gives you more stability in the ground. Requires some experience to work with. Still, I am very satisfied, definitely recommended as a replacement for a tripod if you don't like to take it with you.

The monopod is nice and light and easy to operate. In addition, you can turn a spike at the foot. I use the monopod for my viewer, ideal.

Used a few times since purchase and very satisfied with this monopod. Would have liked a little smaller but is otherwise not a nuisance when taking it with you. Nice and stable and solid for use with large lenses.
