New boiler, then you also want a new thermostat. After a lot of searching I came across the Tado. Although slightly more expensive than the NEST and the Thermosmart, it was ultimately the design and support at Tado that were decisive.

I immediately ran into an issue during the installation. I didn't have an existing setup as a sart point. Called the helpdesk and within two minutes I was helped. No hassle, music just helped. So continue with the installation.

If you can read, it's practically impossible to mess up the installation... erm. Seriously opening the package was the hardest part in the process. The connection of the extension kit is also described specifically for my boiler. I can only conclude that someone has put a lot of thought into this.

In use, the Tado is a relief. I honestly don't understand why people criticize the 'wall unit'. You don't need that for anything, stay with your lazy ass on the couch, grab your mobile and arrange everything immediately like a boss. Getting up is so 2015!

After a few days I found out that the Tado often mistakenly think we are home (or my wife has a lot to explain). We both work close to home (less than 200 meters as the crow flies) but Tado uses a range of 400 meters for Geofencing.

So again called the helpdesk, again solved within two minutes. I don't know how they do it, but those guys from Tado understood it just as well as those guys from Coolblue. It's nice that there are still companies that understand what consumers want.

Is there nothing to complain about at all? Yes, it is a pity that the extension kit is required to use true wireless. And it's a pity that the UTP cable is not even 10cm (10cm is always too short, isn't it Anouk?) As a result, the bridge is always dangling messily from your router. Although that is of course solved with another UTP cable. But hey, you're Dutch, so you must have something to say. Hereby!
