I just want to share my experience about how I made my best purchase ever and immediately discovered one of the best online stores in the Netherlands. Will also explain the product.
TL;DR: Just buy this thing, at Coolblue, now. Just click.
Some weeks ago
So my ex runs off with my media player, interesting. Thing crashes more often in a week than the euros it cost. Yes hundreds. Now I can buy a media player with my own money without a fuss! I can finally decide for myself where each of my hard-earned euros goes. I get to choose the color, the size, and the price!
So after all alimony I have about 40 euros left, what should I do with that now? My colleague points out that Google has a device for a few tens with which I can Netflix and YouTube. Sounds ridiculously cheap and it may be nothing but exactly what I want.
So no food for a week and I'm going to order that thing from the best fastest most beautiful webshop in the world.
Amazon,.. but they don't sell it? I Google on, Amazon has banned the sale because that thing competes too hard! What a bunch of bullies.
Chromecast already sounds good to my ears, so I want it, so I immediately remove my Amazon bookmark (I don't buy from bastard shops) and ask my well-informed colleague for an online store that I can trust.
Coolblue, who are they?
"They are fast and cool"
Okay it will.
Ha, Coolblue is so fast and cool.
At 23:30 in the evening I order the Chromecast on my phone from coolblue in less than 30 seconds. No account needed, but I'll make one anyway. Password doesn't have to be 3 numbers 7 capital letters and a strange character, fantastic!
I also get the chance to watch hilarious movies while I wait, and I kid you not it didn't matter but I came home the next day with a package.
Fast and cool guys, great!
Okay, the product.
What is a Chromecast?
I didn't know either so let me explain.
A Chromecast is an HDMI dongle, just like a USB stick, but for your TV. Via the Wifi you send what you want to watch or listen from your phone/PC to that dongle and you watch/listen it on your T.V. They call this streaming.
How does it work? / to install
You put that thing in your T.V. follows a super simple step-by-step plan, connect to your wifi and go with that banana. You use your phone as a remote control, or via your P.C. in your browser. Child can do the laundry.
Streaming services/apps
Netflix, HBO.GO, Youtube, Spotify, Twitch.tv, your browser screen all 1 press the button and voila it's on your T.V. with almost no buffer time. They are also still in development so they will probably support a lot more in the future. Also, Chrome is working on better development that you can use your entire P.C. screen and audio can be cast to the Chromecast.
Battery Expensive Phone
Apparently it also works with a special technology that you don't stream directly from your phone so it costs you virtually no battery life on your phone. Your phone simply tells your Chromecast what to do and what to open, so you're not actually streaming from your phone but directly from the source.
Future
Chrome has committed to supporting and developing the Chromecast for a long time, so your $39 will last a long time, and only get better.
Conclusion
What an invention, and for so little money. It is not a replacement for a comprehensive large media player. But for 39 euros this is very close. Ease of use is so great, and that thing is on every day at my house.
Coolblue, you have a new customer too, what a top store with top service.
