After some time reading about NAS systems I came across this one. The condition was that in addition to the backup and storage options, it could be a good replacement for my several year old Popcorn Hour A-300, and it works perfectly for that, especially with the HDMI port!

Purchased with 2 3TB WD-RED drives due to the high "burning hours" of these drives. Currently running in RAID1 for my personal files and a separate disk for multimedia that does not necessarily need extra protection.

Integration with Kodi is, in one word, great. Huge relief compared to my old media player. Super fast interface, software is completely customizable to your own wishes and layout, highly recommended. Automatically download my desired things, put them neatly in the library and then I get a notification on my phone without me having to do anything for this. Really ideal. For people who prefer to use another player also support for Plex and can of course also stream to other DLNA devices or via the internet, so that I can also watch my multimedia on the train.

Software is very simple, well-arranged dashboard that even someone like me (who doesn't have much experience with these systems) could quickly get started with. Lots of extra software available that can also be installed via the dashboard since the last update.

Of course also bought with a view to backing up different devices. I haven't worked much with the laptop/computer yet, but with the apps on android I was able to set up very quickly that all photos from my phone are automatically uploaded to the NAS (only on WIFI otherwise I'll be through my data in no time). Really very relaxed! I also hardly had to do anything to set up the device so that it can be reached from outside the network, click a few times and follow the wizard and I could just access my NAS on my phone. :)

Also offers a lot of "serious" functions that I have not yet worked with myself, but especially now that I have been reading a lot about the other options such as VPN.

I have given sound production 4 stars because the beeps are very loud. This is probably on purpose because it also gives this signal if a hard drive should fail, which in itself also makes sense, but they are so hard that I startled the first time. Fortunately, you never hear them in use, only when restarting, etc. You hardly hear the device itself. I have it in an open cupboard next to the TV and have never consciously "heard" it running.
