I've digitized my entire movie/series collection so I no longer have to grab DVDs/BDs to watch.
I would like to be able to stream anywhere in the house on any device with this device.
I connected the WD My Cloud Home in the meter box directly to the router. As a test I put a 1 season of a series on the my cloud (transfer from PC via Network is VERY slow despite 1 gig network with correct cabling) a faster option is to put the files on an external HD and connect it via USB to the MyCloud.
Loading a movie via WD's APP itself is very easy, (you don't actually need Plex for your smartphone) but VERY slow, if you want to fast-forward, you'll have to wait another minute for it to finish load.
The WD certainly has advantages, but I send the My Cloud back to Cool Blue because of its (slow) speed and that everything is online and must be done. (you do not have the option as far as I could find to only have access to the My Cloud if you are also connected to the network/wifi connection)
