According to our smartwatch expert
The Samsung Galaxy Watch is a smartwatch that keeps you updated with information all day long. Use Bluetooth to connect the Galaxy Watch to your smartphone and in the morning, you can see which appointments you have that day and what the weather is like. Throughout the day, you can also see your number of steps taken, your calorie consumption, and incoming calls or messages. The smartwatch is waterproof, scratch-resistant, and has different sports profiles, which allows you to use it during your workout as well. Thanks to the different watch faces, you can personalize the Galaxy Watch to your own liking.
This watch is suitable for a wrist circumference of 17 to 19cm.

When I wanted to buy the product myself, I hesitated for a long time between a 46mm and a 42mm. I was worried that the 46mm would be too big on my wrist (as a man I tend to have thinner wrists). I was also a bit concerned about whether the strap would have enough holes to attach. All these worries were not necessary, because this watch fits nicely around your wrist and a second strap is included for smaller wrists that you can easily change. That was already a good start. As for the dials, there is a whole range from which to choose. You will easily find some that look beautiful. Something for everyone, including the dials that are available for free. What I didn't realize in advance, but which is an absolute added value, is that you can configure (customize) your phone completely and very easily from the Galaxy Wearable app. From that app you can also switch the watch faces, add or remove apps. All this can also be done via the watch, but I really thought that it could be done via the app. The order and classification of the apps can also all be done via the app. The communication between the watch and the app is all very smooth. Top! I also think it is an added value that this watch automatically records some workouts (walking, running, cycling and dynamic training). You can also start and close a whole scale of other workouts manually, but I haven't done that yet. I think the automatic registration of this watch is just the trump card (compare with Fitbit). When I had to decide between the 46mm and 42mm myself, I read that the difference was mainly in the battery and it is indeed true, the battery of this watch lasts well. I can't compare with the 42mm of course, but for me it's a must. At the end of the day I'm at about 75%, so that's not so bad. I could easily walk around with it for 2 days. Keep in mind that I always leave the dials on (I think it's nicer for myself ;-)) and that I also keep the heart rate monitor running continuously. I feared that this would have a heavy impact on the battery, but that is not so bad. I also really like the use of the touchscreen in combination with the ring. Notifications are well received from Messenger and Whatsapp, but you can't put the app itself on the watch, but you can read the message completely, so that is more than enough for me. I have not yet made calls via the watch itself, but I have already received a call. Your watch vibrates and you can see who is calling you. I prefer to take my smartphone myself. Those hoping for Bixby (spoken commands) will have to make do with the English version. Samsung is indeed working on a Dutch version and it is expected at the end of 2019. Personally, do not miss this, but for some this can be a turn off. If I have to list a disadvantage for myself, it is that when bicycles are registered automatically, the distance is not measured. I thought it was my location that was set incorrectly, but apparently others have this problem too. I hope this can be fixed in the future (software update). Everything from your workouts is nicely synced to S Health, but you can't adjust anything to the registered training afterwards. For example, I play badminton, my watch recognizes this as a dynamic training and will also save it in S Health. I would have liked to be able to indicate that this is about badminton, but that is not possible.
Conclusion: very satisfied! Was in the beginning with the price, but I really think it's worth the money.

A fantastically beautiful watch, call it a sports watch or a smartwatch, it is both!

I bought this watch a few weeks ago, together with a new Samsung smartphone (A50). This watch is TOP for me. In the meantime, something can already tell.
First and foremost the strap, of which you can already read something on various reviews, is quite ok for me. Also good in size. I was most afraid of that and almost ordered another one. This now turns out not to be necessary at all.
Installation and pairing with the GSM went very smoothly. And meanwhile you could get to know all the basic functions through the fun wizard.
This watch definitely wants to be your sports friend. During my office hours I am regularly (every hour) urged to get a coffee (actually water :-) ) and thus increase your number of steps. You can definitely turn this feature off, but I think it's definitely worth it. I have the impression that the measurements are fairly correct (steps, stairs, heart rate,...)
Notifications from Facebook, WhatsApp, email, messages, ... are (almost) flawlessly visible. Almost,...because the connection sometimes drops. This will also come back quickly, only you have felt it for a while on the wrist (you can also turn this off).
No shortage of watch faces. Many for free, and also paying if you want to spend your money on them. In the meantime, I have also found some useful apps that run on this Galaxy Watch without any problems.
I think the battery is great. My previous smartwatch (a Motorola Moto 360 1st GEN) had to be in its charging station every day. You can do without it for 3 days. Not if you leave the screen on continuously, which is also not necessary. The docking station is also a great thing.
Keep in mind the height of the thing. It's not an exaggeration, but can sometimes be a bit uncomfortable with a dressy shirt or tight sweater. This is the only downside I can think of for me.
Very useful for me!
