You can do a lot with the HUE app itself, but with some other apps you can do even more. This all works fine, but it would be nice if this could be done with 1 app. The brightness and color are very well adjustable, the colors transition nicely and the dimmer is also smooth. Would like to see the TV can be combined as an ambilight. This is now only possible with the sync app, or another app, so you need a device for it. Or you have to buy such a Philips HUE sync box or ambilight TV. They are pricey and not my first choice.
