After a long search for an affordable air purifier, for less dust and harmful particles in my bedroom, I came up with the Winix Zero. I wasn't looking for bells and whistles, but something functional, practical to use with sufficient power. The smaller they are, the harder (and therefore louder) you have to run them to filter all the air, so better to have too much power than too little. Up to and including position 2 I find the sound absolutely not disturbing (even pleasant), position 3 is also doable if you are not wrong. Turbo is very loud but usable in some situations.

I was positively surprised that there were already 2 (affordable complete) filter sets in the box, good for 2 years. In addition, you will receive a set as a gift after registration. This alone almost saves the price of the device in filters. Manufacturers of other air purifiers often even sell the carbon and HEPA filters separately, making it much more expensive to keep the unit running.

The Winix Zero is robust, easy to use and to clean. You don't get a remote control with it, but to be honest I always lose it anyway. The design is not very special, but neat and practical. The front plate is conveniently secured with magnets. The pre-filter is a bit hard in the middle, but you quickly get the hang of it. It's nice that the carbon filter is in front of the HEPA filter, because it still retains quite a lot of particles after the pre-filter, so that your HEPA filter lasts longer. The pre-filter is easy to vacuum with such a brush on the spout. You can also vacuum quite a few dust particles from your carbon filter. The device also has a sensor for when your HEPA filter is saturated. At first I didn't know what to expect from Plasmawave, but I now believe that it at least allows dust to descend faster. It would also neutralize harmful particles.

The device has an automatic mode that works better than expected if some dust gets close. In the dark (but also with weak ambient lighting), this automatically switches off almost all light coming from the device. The disadvantage of this is that the device also goes into silent mode and then filters very weakly. The timer function is also very practical if, for example, you want to filter your bedroom for an hour while you are away for a while. With blue, orange and red, the device also clearly displays the air quality. The device can be easily moved to other rooms by means of the handle at the back. All in all easy and practical to use.

In my experience, it's better to leave the device on on a high setting in a room for an hour or two before going in, than all the time (weak) while you're there. Air then circulates better, allowing it to filter more particles throughout the room. In addition, you do not move new dust particles / allergens with the airflow. Also position the device in a way that promotes air circulation when it is on. Air comes out at an angle at the top which helps. Sometimes I also move the device in the same room.

In my opinion, you can also place 2 air purifiers more effectively for large spaces than 1 with extra power, your range is then greater.

After a month of use, I have to say that unfortunately I did not really sleep better, but I do see significantly fewer dust particles in the air when it has been switched on and it smells fresher. If you only see what ends up in your pre-filter, you almost don't want to get rid of the device anymore. I don't have any specific allergies as far as I know, but I had the feeling that my nose closed with dust and sometimes felt very dry. Is there less dust on the floor and furniture with an air purifier? In my experience, strangely enough, just more! But I think it's because of the Plasmawave function.
