Noise: I wouldn't recommend running this in your bedroom at night. At the lower ventilation position, the sound is indeed quite quieter, but will still disturb a considerable group of people (opinions are divided here). However, once there is a door in between, it is no longer an issue. A night stand or programmable timer would be perfect.
