We have ordered 4 of these adapters to use in combination with the latest MacBook Pro 16". Although the design and ease of use are not that bad, we have ordered other adapters for everyone in the meantime, because there are actually too many problems with them. Note that all 4 adapters we ordered have these flaws, so it's definitely structural and not an exception.
For starters, the adapter makes a slight buzzing sound (like an old adapter sometimes does) when you plug the power cable into the 100W USB-C port. It doesn't have it when you use the 60W port, but then it charges clearly slower. Furthermore, it works fine with short cables (such as at your desk), but it is a disaster in, for example, a somewhat larger meeting room. For example, none of us 4 has the HDMI connection in the meeting rooms, because the cable is simply too long. What nonsense. Meanwhile, we have ordered 4 x the "Satechi Usb C to Usb A, Ethernet and HDMI Cable Converter", and they work everywhere, without any problem.
