The air conditioner is a rebrand from Eurom to Fuave and is the “Coolblue house brand”. Chosen for the ACS version instead of the ACB because I think the ACS looks nicer, the eye also wants something and such. In terms of specs there also seems to be a difference between the 2 versions, but I don't have them at hand.
Dimensions and weight:
Once unpacked, I find the dimensions of the device not too bad. Yes it remains a large matt/high-gloss white device, but for the cooling capacity I find it acceptable. I especially like the floor space it takes up, so I can put it away relatively easily when I'm not using it. The swivel wheels also make it easy to move, but make sure that most of the weight is at the bottom. If you push the device around at the top part, it will go a little less smoothly than if you push it from the middle. The handles made it easier to lift the air conditioner (it's still a good 30 kilos that you carry).
Installation:
The ring, which is placed on the air conditioning, I could easily apply to the pipe, the ring that goes through the seal was more difficult. It resulted in dented and torn parts of the drain pipe (which are in the ring), could be just me of course. But nevertheless it was "stuck". I can imagine that both rings could still come loose from the tube if you stretch it all the way and try to push it in all kinds of angles. Just keep it as straight as possible and there's nothing wrong, using some aluminum tape can also help (I did for the window side of the ring). The drain pipe is 1.50 meters, as I think is the case with many brands/models. The length is sufficient for me and a longer tube will also have a negative effect on the discharge of the warm air. The power cable is 1.80 meters and this is also long enough for me to place the air conditioner where I want it. The included window seal was easy to apply to the plastic frame and the fabric you apply has 2 zippers to keep the tube in place. The adhesive quality of the Velcro tape will last a summer, or it will last longer I have to experience. Installing the water drainage pipe requires some effort. On the one hand handy because you know for sure that it will stay in place, but the first few times you have to do your best to get the tube on.
Operation and commissioning:
To operate the air conditioner via the device itself, there is a kind of touch panel at the top instead of physical push buttons. Works great and makes cleaning easier too. The device is also easy to operate with the remote control, focusing on the front at a distance of 6-7 meters works fine. Downside is the cheap appearance of the remote control, high-gloss plastic instead of the matte would have been nicer. In ventilation mode, the device is quiet enough for me to sleep with. When the compressor is on for cool/dry mode the air conditioner is CLEARLY there, too loud for me personally to sleep, but the intent is to only have the unit on before going to sleep in my case. So it doesn't matter whether you turn the fan up or down, the compressor only has 1 position and that is loud. Anyway, you get a lot of cooling power in return. I will mainly use it in the attic, for a room of about 23 m2. There are cheaper models that should be able to cool such a room. But my idea was that with more cooling capacity it should be possible to cool it faster, especially if we experience a heat wave again. At a room temperature of 25-26 degrees, the temperature had already dropped to 19-20 degrees after about 45 minutes (when the air conditioner is set to 16 degrees). I am impressed and wonder how the air conditioner will do when it gets really hot in the summer. During use I had no problems with rattling parts or rattling noises. The whole is well put together.
Storage:
As I wrote before, the device is relatively compact and easy to put away when I'm not using it, which will obviously not apply to everyone. But in my attic I have an empty corner where it can stand. Lifting the loft "just" won't do it, possibly with two people, but I wouldn't try it if it's not necessary. Removing the water also takes some extra work. Even though you have the tube for the water on it during use (at the top drain point), there is still some residual water that you can only get out by tilting the device. And then you'll also have to open the bottom drain point (both points are closed with a rubber cap) to get the last bit of water out. Make sure to put a towel underneath. Due to the location of the lower drain point (1-2 cm above the ground), you also need to make sure that the air conditioner is higher than the water collection tray. I then tip it carefully at the top of the stairs while a bucket is a few steps lower. No idea how this works with other brands/models, but easy is different. By the way, cleaning the grids is not quite correctly stated in the manual (apart from the bad translation). You can easily click the top grid loose and on. For the bottom grille, on the other hand, you have to loosen a screw. Not necessarily annoying, but don't expect that you don't need any tools at all.
But all in all I am very satisfied with the air conditioner, if the heat wave really comes I hope that the air conditioner will also perform well. But in any case, lowering the humidity helps enormously, which the air conditioner also does well. Again, I am happy with this air conditioner, especially for this money.
