After a long search and doubting, I ended up on this screen. At first I wasn't sure whether I should go for an IPS or VA monitor. In the end I chose the VA model because contrast plays a very important role for me for the latest games such as; Cyberpunk 2077 in the most beautiful image quality.
The reason why I chose this monitor is because my previous gaming monitor (1080p 144hz) also came from Asus and I was very satisfied with it. Because I also came from a 24 inch I didn't want to exaggerate with the size so I decided to go for a 27 inch and don't regret my decision. A 27 inch can be bigger than you think so think carefully about the size you are looking for and whether it will fit on your desk. Another plus is that this monitor has 109 ppi (pixel per inch), most VA monitors have around 90 ppi of this price range, so I thought it was a nice bonus. The brightness is also of good quality and is something that you can appreciate after a while.
VA panels would suffer from slower ms (response speed) than IPS, I haven't noticed this yet, so I'm very happy with that.
The only downside is the color depth, this monitor has 8 bits. This is certainly not bad, but it would have been more ideal if this monitor used a 10 bit color depth for even better colors like the Dell S3223DGF, but these are only details and certainly no reason not to buy this monitor.
All in all, I think this monitor is the best in its price range and I recommend the Asus Rog Strix XG27WQ for people who don't play super competitive and especially like to enjoy the beautiful graphics and gameplay that the latest games have to offer.
