According to our solid state drive (SSD) expert
The 980 Pro has a high read speed of 6400MB/s, so you can start your computer and applications super fast.
Thanks to the 512MB cache, you can also open frequently used files and programs faster.
You get a 5-year manufacturer's warranty from Samsung on this SSD.
With a 500GB storage capacity, your SSD will be full soon if you store a lot of large games, so we recommend at least 1TB for a game library.
If you want to use this SSD for your PS5, Sony recommends you to purchase a heatsink.
Note: this M.2 SSD has a PCI Express 4.0 x4 (NVMe) interface and will only work if your system supports PCIe/NVMe. Make sure to check this in the manual of your laptop or motherboard.
With the Samsung 980 Pro 500GB, you can transfer files very quickly. This M.2 SSD uses PCIe 4.0, which ensures a high read speed of 6400MB/s. As a result, your PC boots quickly, your files open in a flash, and it takes less time to load your games. The write speed of 5000MB/s ensures that you download and transfer files 10 times faster with the 980 Pro than on a standard 2.5-inch SATA SSD. For example, you can store a game of 100GB on your SSD in 30 seconds. Thanks to 512MB cache, you can open frequently used files even faster. The Samsung 980 Pro has a TBW of 150TB. So on average, you write 150TB of data before the SSD gives up. You get a 5-year manufacturer's warranty from Samsung with this SSD.
Samsung SSDs are of better quality, so they last a very long time.
