According to our dryer expert
With the AirWash cycle, you can freshen up worn clothes without washing them first.
You can save up to € 1150 on energy costs over the lifespan, thanks to the A+++ energy label.
Thanks to the 9kg load capacity, you can dry a large load of bedding in one go.
With a maximum drying time of more than 3.5 hours, you dry slower than with an average heat pump dryer with this load capacity.
Drying performance
Design
This Samsung DV90T6240LH heat pump dryer surprised me positively. Operation is very easy and the noise level is remarkably low. I also find the link with the app very pleasant.
Fully digital The first thing that strikes me about this dryer is the narrow display. In this model, the programs are not located around the rotary knob, but on the narrow screen at the top right. With the rotary knob I choose from the 16 different programs. Cotton is selected by default, which is fine for my towels. This energy-efficient program lasts 3 hours and 40 minutes. To get my laundry completely dry, I choose the third degree of dryness. I then start the drying process with the start touch button.
Load sensor While drying I notice that the display dims. After touching the touch buttons, I see that the drying time has been adjusted downwards. This is due to the load sensor that measures exactly how much laundry is in the drum. Handy, because that way I save energy every drying cycle. For the first dry, I only have a few towels and washcloths. As a result, I fold my dry laundry the same evening.
Dryness Level In the second drying cycle I use the full fill weight of 9 kilos. After drying, I notice that the bedding is just not completely dry. For the most economical operation, this Samsung dries to iron dry as standard. Although the dryer has a shorter drying time, the laundry still remains somewhat damp. To dry my laundry completely, I first have to tap the dryness level symbol. The drying cycle then takes a little longer, but my bed linen is now dry enough to fold straight away.
Easy maintenance To keep energy consumption low, I clean the fluff filter after every drying cycle. An extra filter in the fluff filter prevents fluff from entering the machine. Behind a cover in the bottom of the dryer I see the condenser. Although it only needs to be cleaned after 3 months, I simply remove the first fluff with the supplied brush. I don't have to empty the condensation reservoir, because I use the included condensation drain hose.
Other extras Between the settings I see that I can connect the washing machine with Smart Control. I simply choose a program via the app and start drying. I also see exactly how long the drying program lasts on my smartphone. Because of this I know exactly when I have to walk to the attic to store the towels. I also find the AirWash program useful. With this program I refresh briefly worn clothes, without having to wash my shirts and jeans.
