Because this makes me uncomfortable at home and makes it difficult to sleep, I looked for a mobile air conditioner. I chose the Duux North Smart air conditioner because of its great cooling capacity. If I set the temperature to 16 degrees, my living room cools down very quickly. I think it even feels colder. The included window sealing kit also keeps warm air out well.

Fan and dehumidifier It's nice that the air conditioning dehumidifies the air, because it means my house doesn't feel clammy. There is also a ventilation setting, so that the air conditioning blows air like a fan. In the highest setting I feel a lot of wind, which is nice and cooling.

So let's take a look at a 'more economical' newer, more functions and above all more powerful for the really warmer summer months.

Then I received an email that it was finally in stock, so I ordered immediately. Very neatly delivered the next day by 2 delivery guys from Coolblue. Then we had to wait for a warm summer night, and it presented itself almost immediately. So test it! The first thing I noticed was the shrill and annoying compressor noise the unit made in cooling mode. Something that both my partner and I really can't get used to after a night of testing. (The old air conditioner was much quieter, and gave a deeper hum than this unit).

The next day I measured again and at 2m distance the dB meter indicated 80dB when the compressor started, and on average 72dB in cooling mode. Much louder than the advertised value. If you are a light sleeper, or sensitive to irregular sounds, I would really look further.

I am also not satisfied with the air displacement. Of course you are aware that you are buying a heavy air conditioner for larger spaces, but you expect that a silent mode or 'night mode' provides a somewhat more pleasant setting. Unfortunately, the device still caused quite a bit of air movement in that mode, so you always had the feeling that you were sitting / lying on the draft.
