There are no cloud costs, but notifications do work via cloud, there is no local API for your own smart home integration such as home assistant. The e340 would support rtsp (which would have been nice for Frigate, for example) but this is not usable, because the e340 sets up a WiFi connection with the homebase3 and is not directly accessible. There is a HACS solution for Home Assistant, but this also relies on the cloud.
