Description
The WD Red Pro WD8005FFBX 8TB is optimized for NAS systems and is suitable for home users as well as small or medium-sized companies. Expand your NAS with this 3.5-inch hard drive and you can share your files with your devices at home or at the office in multiple RAID applications. You could use the Red Pro as a backup drive, something the Red base models aren't suitable for. With 8TB, you'll have enough storage capacity for 800 Full HD movies of 2 hours or 800,000 photos. Thanks to the built-in anti-vibration sensors, the drive lasts longer than a regular hard drive. With a rotation speed of 7200RPM, this drive is also energy-efficient. In addition, you can open frequently used files faster thanks to the 512MB cache memory. When you're not processing any files, the WD8005FFBX lifts the read-write head from the disk. That way, it doesn't wear as fast, which makes the drive more durable.

Bought 2 for a raid 1 enclosure with 2 drives. Works like a charm for editing 4K footage. Discs are very fast. I can hear them on my desk, but not too distracting. Dropped a disk from a few cm height during installation and luckily it still works fine.
