I have some extra space in my garage, so I'm putting this Wisberg freezer in there. This way, I can stock up on snacks for the weekend and always have pizza nearby. I like that the freezer has NoFrost, so I don't have to defrost it. I'm also happy with the ease of use of the display and the shelves. Although the freezer uses a lot of energy, I would still recommend it. I'll explain why here.
First Impression
Behind the freezer door, there's a surprising amount of space for my groceries. At the top, I find two shelves where I put ice cream and chocolate puffs. When I'm hungry, I simply slide these out and quickly grab a snack. That way, I don't have to search for ice cream at the bottom of one of the drawers. The meatballs I buy on sale last for another 3 days and I freeze them too. When I need them for my spaghetti, I can quickly grab them thanks to the slide-out shelf. At the bottom, there are three transparent drawers. Here I can see exactly how many pizzas I still have in stock. I've noticed the freezer humming occasionally, but it doesn't bother me much. The freezer is in my garage anyway.
No Frost
A big advantage is that I no longer defrost thanks to No Frost. The drawers stay ice-free, which saves me a lot of time and hassle. This way, I can more easily see what's on the packaging of my stir-fry vegetables and how long I'll cook them. The electronic Smart Control display makes it easy to adjust the freezer temperature. When I get home from the supermarket, I quickly freeze my salmon fillet with the "super freeze" function. This way, my fish is cold quickly and the temperature doesn't fluctuate too much. The ideal temperature for the freezer is -18 degrees Celsius. It's possible to set the freezer colder, but it's not strictly necessary.
Door Alarm
One disadvantage is that the freezer, with energy class E, uses more energy than average. I compensate for this with the door alarm. This automatically goes off after 1.5 minutes, if the door is still open. Handy if the neighbor suddenly rings the doorbell and I accidentally forget to close the freezer. Or if I'm too slow loading the drawers. This way, I still save energy.
