What struck me most about this Samsung heat pump dryer is how quietly it does its job. I can easily turn it on while I watch TV in the evening, without being bothered by the noise. And I don't often re-dry: it adjusts the program itself to the amount of laundry. However, a full drum sometimes takes a long time, so quick drying is not always possible.

First impression The first thing I notice is how sturdy the dryer looks and feels. The silver casing gives the dryer a beautiful, luxurious finish. The clear touchscreen lights up immediately when I start it. I can easily choose between the different programs via this screen. I can also open various smart apps, such as Spotify and YouTube. The eco program is selected by default. This is how I dry my laundry in the most energy-efficient way. With a tap on the screen I can see all the other programs, including AI-drying+. This automatically selects the best program and continuously measures whether my shirts are already dry.

Quiet and economical in use I was especially curious whether the 'Silent Dry' system would really add something. I noticed during drying that this machine is really very quiet. The only thing I hear at first is the laundry spinning in the drum. The dryer dries gently, without annoying humming or vibrations. So I can turn on the dryer without worrying when I have an online meeting. It is also really economical: I notice that I use less power, which is better for my wallet.

Smart functions that help you The AI Dry function is surprisingly handy. I throw everything in the drum at the same time and the dryer chooses the right program itself. So I don't have to think about whether it is cotton or synthetic. The app also works fine: I set a program from the couch and receive a notification when it is ready. Not essential, but useful.

Longer drying time as a disadvantage Less practical is the drying time with a full drum. With the most energy-efficient program, it sometimes takes 4.5 hours before everything is really dry. The Super Speed program is a godsend. With this program, I dry my laundry in just 2 hours. The AI Dry program combines the best of both options and has therefore become my favorite program.

The dryer looks good and it's almost a shame to hide it in a cupboard. It is, as usual with Samsung, full of functionality. Maybe a little too full. I personally like the possibility to adjust each program to your own wishes. Of course, this is also possible on a 'normal' dryer these days, but it works a little better for me this way. That is of course a matter of taste.

In terms of operation, the dryer is not inferior to other dryers in the same price range. Everything comes out dry, even when I have stuffed the dryer a little too full. There is a washing list (or actually a drying list) of settings to set the dryer to. However, the nice thing about this dryer is of course the AI function. The dryer has "AI Dry+" where the device continuously measures the humidity level, temperature, etc. via all kinds of sensors and adjusts the operation accordingly. It is difficult to determine how well this works per component, but since the clothes come out dry without shrinking, I am more than satisfied.

The screen on the dryer is nice and gives it a more modern look. Spotify and YouTube on a dryer suggest to me the "look what we can do" attitude that Samsung sometimes adopts and was not necessary. It can't do any harm and fortunately it is hidden in a separate menu. The dryer can be used without ever having a view of these apps.

The addition of light in the drum is nice so that nothing is overlooked when emptying the drum. The sock that used to go for an extra ride can now go straight into the drawer.

Not unimportant; the sound. The dryer is relatively quiet. It is clearly audible that a dryer is on, but in my opinion not disturbing. What I personally do find disturbing is the sound when the fast drying function is switched on. The dryer then seems to double in produced sound which is bordering on annoying.

Of course, the dryer can be operated via the SmartThings app. With a small beauty error where the dryer in the app indicates 'Send to washing machine'. Samsung will hopefully solve this in an update and does not affect the operation, but it is a pity.

I'm often short on time, so I'm very happy with my Samsung dryer. It's fast, quiet, and dries my laundry well. My clothes come out dry and soft, even towels and bedding. There are many programs, such as for cotton, synthetic, mixed, and sportswear. This makes it easy to choose what I need. Everything works logically and clearly. There's also an AI button; the dryer automatically checks which laundry is in the dryer and creates a program. Very easy. I also find the app useful. It sends a notification when the laundry is almost done. This way, I don't have to constantly check if the dryer is finished. I can also see how much time is left in the app. Really handy when you're busy. The only downside is cleaning the lint filter. I have to do that after every cycle and it always takes a bit of time. But that's part of it, and luckily it's easy to do. In short, the dryer does exactly what it's supposed to do: dry well and quickly! I'm very happy with it!
