The Dyson V16 Piston Animal Submarine is a powerful and versatile stick vacuum that cleans thoroughly. Whether I'm cleaning carpet, hard floors, or mopping up coffee spills, it helps me do it all.

Powerful suction and automatic adjustment The vacuum cleaner has powerful suction, even on carpet. I noticed that a carpet that hadn't been vacuumed in a long time looked completely fresh again. The suction automatically adjusts when I switch from hard floors to carpet. I hear the motor sound change. I don't have to do anything. This makes vacuuming comfortable and hassle-free.

Smart display and compact dust collection The display clearly shows which setting I'm using and what the vacuum is picking up. This is handy because it allows me to keep an eye on how clean the floor is getting. The buttons on the display respond quickly, so I can easily switch between settings. There's a slider in the dust container that compacts dirt, which means fewer trips to the trash can.

Comfortable to use, but the brush glides stiffly. The vacuum cleaner fits comfortably in my hand and feels well-balanced. When I use the vacuum cleaner without the handle, for example, with the dusting brush, it feels extra light and maneuverable. The floor brush glides a bit stiffly, and the wheels on the side feel a bit loose. I don't notice it much while cleaning, but it was noticeable.

Mopping with control and results The mop brush is a handy addition. It's compact and wets my floor neatly. I don't see wet streaks, but an evenly clean floor. As a test, I threw half a cup of coffee on the floor. The mop brush sweeps it up effortlessly. It also picks up crumbs and dust immediately. That's handy, because it cleans the floor in one go. So I know I'm cleaning really thoroughly.

Great accessories for every job The included mini turbo brush works well for my sofa, for example. I can imagine this is also handy if you have pets. A cat bed with hair, for example, is quickly cleaned. The soft dusting brush is suitable for delicate surfaces. The accessory set is a handy addition. I had a suitable attachment for various vacuuming tasks.

The Dyson is giving continuous error messages. We have already consulted the manual for this, and the problem is temporarily resolved, but sometimes it reappears during the same vacuuming session or at least in the next one. For such an expensive device, you would expect to be able to vacuum worry-free. Sometimes the vacuum only works on boost mode because the error message persists with other notifications (despite actions taken); however, this causes the battery to drain very quickly, meaning we cannot even vacuum the entire ground floor. I would prefer to return the entire vacuum and buy a "simple" new one instead, as this one is so disappointing and offers a complete lack of the ease of use that we purchased it for.

After years of using the V8, it was time for a new vacuum cleaner. Despite much hesitation (given the price), I went for this model anyway. And I am not dissatisfied, because 8 generations later, you notice that significant changes have been implemented.

The vacuum fits comfortably in the hand and is so easy to operate and maneuver around everything. Additionally, the laser immediately shows dirt that you wouldn't immediately notice yourself.

The beauty of the whole system is that you no longer have to continuously press a button to vacuum, and the vacuum itself adjusts the suction power based on what it is picking up. Furthermore, the new brush ensures that no dirt gets tangled.

As for mopping, this is also a nice addition. However, the mop isn't always equally effective, and you will still have to clean stubborn stains by hand. And speaking of cleaning, the mop consists of many parts that are sometimes difficult to clean and take a long time to dry.
