The Apple Watch Series 11 works well with my iPhone and accurately tracks health and exercise data. The battery life has improved, but if you exercise a lot, you still need to charge it daily.
Battery life of over a day
I was especially curious about the battery life, which Apple now claims is 24 hours. Surprisingly, I often got even more out of it and only needed to charge it after a day and a half. Exercising with the Watch does use up a lot of battery. If you exercise a lot, you still need to charge it daily.
Exercise and health
I had many options with the Watch 11, from tracking my steps and sleep to taking an ECG. This can detect an arrhythmia. Fortunately, I didn't have one. I have to say, I haven't used the feature since that one time. I did run regularly, and I found the Series 11 very comfortable to work out with. Compared to a sports watch I also own, the Series 11 measures my heart rate just as accurately, for example. I only noticed that the GPS was sometimes a bit less accurate while running in the woods. The difference is so small that only professional athletes would notice it.
Easy to use and smart features
I really appreciate that the most important apps are already installed on the watch and sometimes even activate automatically. For example, if I went for a bike ride, I received a notification after a few minutes to track my ride in the Workout app. And when I turned on Spotify on my iPhone, a small music player immediately popped up on my watch. The one-handed operation also works very well. For example, I opened a menu by tapping my index finger and thumb together, and closed them again with a single wrist movement.
Large, but comfortable
For this review, I tested the 46-millimeter version. It fits well on my large wrist—I have a wrist circumference of 19 centimeters. While the screen is large, the Series 11 is quite thin, especially compared to the Watch Ultra, for example. I found it comfortable to wear, even while sleeping.
Bright screen with vibrant colors
The Watch 11's screen is beautiful, bright, and colorful. I had a lot of fun creating my own watch faces, using photos of my dog or my vacation in Japan as backgrounds. They all looked beautiful and vibrant, making my watch truly personal.
