I don't like very large televisions, so a 55-inch TV is more than enough for me. The advantage of Ambilight is that when the TV is on, it appears larger, but when it's off, it doesn't become a massive block. A disadvantage of Ambilight is that it works best on light walls. The darker the wall, the less visible it is. We initially placed it in front of a dark wall, so you don't get much benefit from the Ambilight, even though that's what makes this TV special.
