American fridge vs side-by-side

An American fridge consists of 1 appliance. The fridge and freezer compartment are located next to or above each other. Some American fridges also have a water or ice dispenser, so you can tap a glass of ice cold water on a hot, sunny day.

A side-by-side fridge consists of 2 appliances, a single-door fridge and an upright freezer. You connect these 2 models with a strip. The fridge and freezer look similar, so they match. That way, it looks like you have a large American fridge. A side-by-side often doesn't have a water or ice dispenser.

Our Coolblue delivery drivers don't carry American fridges up the stairs. This can be a raised patio in your garden, the stairs at the front door, or to another floor. Do you live on the ground floor? In that case, it's not a problem.
