Advice on desktops

The choice for a desktop is based on what you want to do with it. That is why we have put together the specifications you need for each usage situation.

I want to use the Internet & email

Internet, e-mail, word processing or watching a video? You can do that with any desktop. These PCs are relatively inexpensive to purchase, but have fewer options for upgrading, such as installing a video card. In addition, programs over the years are getting heavier and so these computers will age faster.

  • Any processor
  • 2 GB RAM or more

I want to edit photos

If you occasionally edit a holiday, an entry computer with an i3 processor is more than sufficient. However, if you want to edit professional photos regularly, we advise you to look at a more powerful PC that is suitable for programs such as Photoshop. Pay attention to the following specifications:

  • Intel Core i5 or AMD A12 processor
  • 8 GB RAM

I want to edit videos

If you go to work regularly with video editing, then you need a computer that has enough power for that. The editing of videos can heavily burden your pc, especially during the rendering of the video. If you want to regularly or professionally edit videos with software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Adobe After Effects, look at these specifications: \ n \ n * Intel Core i7 processor \ n * 8 GB RAM

I want to game

In principle, every PC can run a game. The only question is, in which image quality? If you play simple games like FarmVille or Angry Birds you can do that with any computer. The video card is especially important for playing the latest games. Where from the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 video card we recommend a desktop for gaming. \ N \ n * NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 \ n * Intel Core i5 or i7 processor

I want to get to work with virtual reality

If you also want to dive into the world of virtual reality, you need a PC that can handle this. The video card plays an important part, as it needs to send a smooth image to the VR gear. If it can't, you could get nauseous. Make sure to go for at least an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 video card.

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
  • Intel Core i5 or i7 processor

I want a desktop for business use

A business PC differs in a number of areas from a consumer computer: \ n \ n ** Windows 10 Pro ** \ n \ nWith this operating system you save encrypted files, connect remotely to another PC and make a share out of a domain. \ n \ n ** Housing ** \ n \ nMost business desktops are a bit firmer and more compact. Moreover, parts are easy to replace. \ N \ n ** Onsite warranty ** \ n \ nOn some business computers there is an onsite warranty or you can upgrade the warranty. If a desktop with onsite warranty breaks down, the next working day will come to a mechanic.
