Many locks open automatically when you're within a certain distance from your house via geofencing. That's easy when you want to go inside with your hands full of groceries. When the lock is also connected to the internet, you can easily open the door for people remotely. Before you choose a smart door lock, check the current type of lock on your front door. There are cylinder locks, 3-point locks, and padlocks. Most smart locks only fit on a cylinder lock or a 3-point lock.
