A wired doorbell is a doorbell that is connected to a power point in the house via a cable. Often, the wired doorbell uses the existing wiring of your current doorbell. That means you can connect it to the bell wire that runs to your current doorbell. This sometimes requires a transformer if the new doorbell uses a different voltage.
