Our digital expert will help you, but it can sometimes make mistakes, like humans do.
According to our solid state drive (SSD) expert
Open files quickly: you can open and move files smoothly thanks to the M.2 NVMe PCIe connection.
Transfer large files: you can quickly move games and 4K movies thanks to the 6,300MB/s write speed.
Lots of storage space: you can save large 4K or RAW files without having to free up space all the time thanks to 2TB.
Less suitable for media editing: you’ll transfer professional 4K or 8K files and large blueprints less quickly with the 6,300MB/s write speed.
Not enough for heavy media: you can store fewer large media files and games with 2 terabytes of storage.

Installation was a breeze, remove the panel from the PS5, open the cover, insert the Samsung and close everything again. Then I did a test in terms of installation speed and I honestly think that the 990 Pro is slightly faster than the standard internal disk. I installed some games on both drives for testing and the 990 Pro finished sooner every time.
In addition, 2TB is of course a nice expansion in terms of storage space and because it is an m.2 disk you can also boot PS5 games directly from this storage (unlike games on an external disk). In short: recommended if your PS5 is short on space.

Only positives and after an easy installation in PlayStation 5 I have sufficient storage for the time being.

It's a very good SSD with a heatsink for my PlayStation 5. And with its 2T of storage, you can store a lot of games. If I had to mention a downside, it's the price. After all the years this technology has been around, you'd expect the price to be a bit lower.
