According to our monitor expert
You can enjoy an extra large overview of your games on the large screen, which you can play smoothly thanks to the 138Hz refresh rate and 0.1ms response time.
In addition to PC gaming, the monitor is also suitable for console gaming at 120Hz in 4K.
You can enjoy razor-sharp graphics thanks to the combination of the 4K resolution and OLED panel.
A 42-inch screen is very large and also takes up a lot of space, so make sure you have enough space and a sturdy desk.
The ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ 42-inch 4K 138Hz OLED gaming monitor combines a large size with the power of a gaming monitor. You have a good overview of all your games on the 42-inch screen, whether it's a shooter or an open world game. The television-size combined with a 138Hz refresh rate and 0.1ms response time ensures lightning fast and smooth images. As the name implies, this monitor has an OLED panel. The pixels in the screen create the light they need themselves, so you can see realistic differences in the tiniest details. Together with the 4K resolution and wide color gamut within the DCI-P3 color space, this ensures a movie theater experience. More of a console gamer? Connect an Xbox Series X, Series S, or PlayStation 5 via HDMI 2.1 and enjoy 120Hz gaming in 4K. G-Sync technology also prevents screen tearing and slowdowns when you game with an NVIDIA video card. That way, you can focus on your game and effortlessly work your way to the top of the leaderboard.
Note: you need a powerful video card for 4K gaming, like an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090, AMD Radeon RX 6000 series GPU, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S.
The screen works great in rooms with a lot of light. The image remains clearly visible with minimal reflection. A downside is the design around the HDMI ports. Due to the small space, some thicker/stiff HDMI cables do not fit.

As far as I'm concerned, this screen falls into the category... "I should have done that sooner". The 138Hz 4K OLED screen is great for gaming. It is also useful that this screen can be hung with a VESA bracket.
