You always have clean air in your home. That's because the air purifier measures the air quality 1000 times per second. It automatically starts working harder when it measures pollution. The 4-layer HEPA filter captures 99.97% of the smallest particles. With the Philips Air+ app, you get more insight into the air quality. It also allows you to control the air purifier remotely. Thanks to the night mode, you can even use it in the bedroom. In this mode, it only has a 15dB noise level.

Nice air purifier - Mediocre performance

The Philips air purifier AC4220/12 looks absolutely gorgeous, especially with the LED lighting that indicates the air quality. It’s a stylish addition to our interior, which is a nice bonus. I especially like the accompanying app, which is a big plus. You can see the air quality in your home in real time and easily adjust the settings. In terms of sound, the device also does well, because it’s nice and quiet, even on the higher settings. You hardly notice that it’s on. However, for our biggest problem – my girlfriend’s allergies – the device unfortunately doesn’t help enough. She’s very allergic, and we didn’t really notice any difference in how she felt, with or without the air purifier. What also bothers me a bit is the location of the air sensor, which is on the back. This means you can’t easily place the device in a corner, which is quite inconvenient because you always have to place the device a bit away from the wall. The manual or the app also doesn’t provide any information about where to best place the air purifier in the room. I was able to test this product for a few weeks as part of a test campaign.
