The HP EliteBook 865 G11 is a powerful 16-inch laptop for heavy business multitasking, for example when you work with many tabs at the same time. I did not experience any delays, even when I opened a so-called 'master sheet' with about 15 tabs. Unfortunately, the video card is not powerful enough for graphic editing.
Powerful enough for heavy use
I sometimes work with more than 50 tabs open, which is heavy for the laptop. This requires a lot of working memory, especially because each tab carries a certain load of data. To test the 16 gigabytes properly, I opened about 20 different Google Sheets spreadsheets and Google Docs text files, to see if I could keep switching quickly. The laptop had very few problems with this, even when I opened my large 'master sheet'. This EliteBook ran smoothly and also had little trouble rotating pivot tables. The browser had more difficulty in smoothly rotating all the spreadsheets. In comparison, my own laptop with a 10th generation Intel processor takes twice as long to load this document. This shows how powerful the current processors are.
Sturdy housing with good overview
The HP EliteBook series combines a slim design with a sturdy magnesium housing. I recently tested an HP ProBook made of aluminum and I did a small test by knocking on both housings. This made it clear that the magnesium housing of the EliteBook is even sturdier than the aluminum housing of the ProBook. I was already satisfied with the aluminum housing, but this goes one step further. Again, I did not drop the laptop for a test, but I am sure that the EliteBook will hardly suffer any damage if it does happen. Magnesium is a bit heavier than aluminum, but despite that I found the laptop to feel light.
Good security and privacy
With this laptop I also received an annual license for HP Wolf Security, which offers extra security for business laptops. Because Windows Pro is standard on these laptops, I also decided to enable Windows Home. The fingerprint scanner is conveniently located, making it easy to log in via Windows Hello. This way I would easily keep hackers and other viruses out and no one would log in to my laptop if I left it on my desk.
