The soleplate glides very smoothly over any type of fabric. What was new to me is that, as soon as you put this iron horizontally, a light shines that perfectly shows you the creases. There are 3 settings for the type of fabric you have and you can adjust them very easily and it is immediately ready for use in the right position. Also the function that you can steam a garment on a coat rack vertically is a big plus to this device. In the past I saw my mountain of ironing almost as a "punishment", now I will quickly take my device and do smaller amounts of ironing.
