UGREEN NASync DH2300

I had an old Synology NAS that was really very slow and wouldn't handle a large drive.

I initially looked at a second-hand one, but ultimately chose UGREEN because I had also bought a USB Hub with network and HDMI connections, which was also of good quality and fast.

So I chose the cheapest one, and I am extremely pleased with it. No regrets whatsoever. Installation went great, and I can now play my music on my phone (also on the amplifier via DLNA) and view all photos. It recognized all the people in the photo album with 80,000 photos, which is super fast and very nice and convenient. You can also easily add other users and grant them the desired permissions. The speed of the USB ports is also superb. In short, a breath of fresh air.

I am extremely pleased with it. I specifically chose this one; other models have more features, but I still chose this one to start with. In the future, I will get a more expensive model for the extensive features.

I mainly use it as a backup for another NAS. It is perfect for that.

Setting up backups from your laptop or smartphone is simple and works without problems.

Playing movies on your TV also works fine via the included app. However, you do have to connect it directly to your TV using the (included) HDMI cable. Unfortunately, you cannot install Plex or Jellyfin on it.

It is a bit of a shame that the lid is attached magnetically. As a result, the lid vibrates slightly due to the discs spinning. That makes a somewhat buzzing sound. When you take the lid off, it is much quieter.

Aside from that minor drawback, a great entry-level model!
