Dreame L50 Ultra AE

The Dreame L50 AE mops and vacuums my house thoroughly. With this robot vacuum, I hardly have to worry about my daily or weekly cleaning tasks anymore. After cleaning, the robot cleans itself in the charging station. This way, I don't get dirty hands.

Ready to use immediately After taking the robot out of the box, I used it right away. I refilled the water reservoir and placed the robot in the charging station. Within 5 minutes, the robot was charged and started its first cleaning task. Because the robot does not yet know the room, it first scans the surroundings while cleaning. The first time, therefore, it seems clumsy and bumps into furniture a bit more often. This way, the robot gets to know the room and follows a better route with each cleaning session. After the first cleaning, I set my preferences for that room in the app.

Well-filled charging station Because the robot has a large water reservoir and a dust bag, I have little to worry about. I empty the dust bag every 2 to 4 months. I top up the water reservoir weekly, or sooner if it is empty. I empty the dirty water reservoir after every cleaning session. Otherwise, I get unpleasant odors. Is the water reservoir empty sooner or is the dust bag full? Then the robot indicates this.

Very quiet The robot is very quiet while vacuuming and mopping. Because of this, I can watch TV peacefully while the robot is cleaning. I only hear noise when the robot empties and refills the water reservoir in the base station. Only emptying and refilling water in the base station makes any noise. I also barely hear the mop drying. The robot also mops and vacuums in corners. It has a side brush for dust clouds and extends the mop head. This allows it to mop very precisely. Even if I don't use soap in the mop water, the robot cleans well. For the best results, I do use soap.

I purchased this after the L40 Ultra AE because it has an excellent side brush and some other upgrades. In use, however, the L40 Ultra AE is much better because it has much more advanced navigation, which is not clearly evident from the specifications. This downgrade in the L50 Ultra AE means that it cleans less well in practice and occasionally gets stuck, for example due to wires. So I returned it and went for the cheaper L40 Ultra AE.

Looks great in the room, sleek design. Works great! The app works perfectly, you can choose almost everything yourself: vacuuming, mopping, vacuuming first then mopping, or both simultaneously. Power, speed, water usage, battery usage, clock, etc. It's also fine to use while watching TV, though it vacuums with more power on a rug, so it's noisier; otherwise, it's top-notch! Do measure the exact height of your sofa or the top of the cabinet beforehand, because it is quite thick. And it really won't go over an edge higher than 2cm. It definitely won't manage 2.5 cm here either!
