First and foremost, there is the initial impression upon unboxing, and it is particularly good. My prejudices against Acer from years ago are apparently no longer justified! The device is very well packaged and feels solid and heavy. The description states that it is made entirely of plastic; however, the top is made of aluminum, which feels nice and premium.
Furthermore, the device comes with a charger, which is also very solidly built and does not get too hot during use. The specifications are decent, resulting in a quick boot-up, and once logged in, everything runs very fast and smoothly. I am also pleasantly surprised by the screen, which is a touchscreen. You can also use this device as a tablet, and the hinge feels sturdy; however, the device is a bit too heavy for that for me.
As a full replacement for a Windows device, you have to take a number of limitations into account, but the smoothly functioning OS more than makes up for that, and there are many apps as alternatives for any software that you cannot download, purchase, or/and install like on a Windows PC. However, if you are already well-versed in the Google/Android ecosystem, this is a golden addition; it works very intuitively and is a true breath of fresh air... Highly recommended, especially for this price. The listed downsides are therefore more points to consider and will not really be a disadvantage for most users...

My first experience with Chrome OS a few years ago was certainly positive, but due to my predominantly Windows 11 usage at the time, it was a bit redundant. In tablet form, on the other hand, the OS is actually too big and unwieldy. As far as I am concerned, however, it is currently a worthy replacement for a laptop. For most programs for Windows or Mac, there are excellent app alternatives or web applications. There are also good alternatives regarding video editors. Perhaps not for professionals, who will still be better off with Windows or Mac. For daily use, however, this is perfect. The Acer is reasonably built, but is made entirely of plastic. However, it is a solid device that does not creak easily. With the 16" touchscreen, 8GB of RAM, an i5 processor, a backlit keyboard, and more than enough porting, you get a fast device. Perhaps it is worth waiting for the new Google Books? But those will be a lot more expensive initially...

According to our laptop expert
You can fold the touchscreen back 360 degrees and use the Chromebook as a tablet, so you can comfortably watch movies and series.
You can switch smoothly between apps and easily handle medium demanding tasks thanks to the Intel Core 3 processor and the 8GB RAM.
With this Chromebook Plus, you get more storage, improve your work with AI features, and make high-quality video calls.
This laptop doesn’t include a charger or a charging cable, so you’ll need to buy them separately.
If you want to handle demanding tasks and edit graphics, choose an Intel Core i5, AMD Ryzen 5, or MediaTek Kompanio Ultra processor.
Note: you can only download apps from the Google Play Store. Not all Windows or macOS programs work the same way on a Chromebook or can be downloaded to a Chromebook. Want to use Office? Keep in mind that you'll only work in a web version of the app.
Switch between medium demanding apps on the go, and turn the 14-inch Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514 CP514-4HN-39M6 Azerty into a tablet. Fold the keyboard back, and take smooth notes on the screen. You can tilt and place the lightweight Chromebook Plus in different positions, so you'll always look at the screen comfortably. Thanks to the Intel Core 3 processor and the 8GB DDR5 RAM, you can work on detailed spreadsheets while you make a presentation. You can also use the handy AI features of Chromebook Plus. Finished working? You can save all your documents online or offline, because this Chromebook has 128GB of local storage. The spacious 16:10 aspect ratio gives you more screen space, so you can see more text and keep a better overview of your work. During an online video call, the Chromebook Plus AI features make sure you're clearly visible. After the call, you can easily cover the webcam with the privacy switch. Finally, the backlit keyboard lets you see the keys clearly in the dark.
