You can attach the smoke detectors to the ceiling with the included tape. That means you don't have to drill holes into your ceiling. You can easily turn off the smoke detector with one push of a button. When the sensor detects smoke, it emits an 85dB signal. The smoke detectors don't need any cables to function. They're powered by 3 batteries each (included) with a lifespan of 10 years.
