With multi-zone thermostat systems, you can precisely adjust the temperature in your house per room. That means you can set a different temperature for the living room and bedroom, or for your home office. As a result, you won't unnecessarily heat up rooms you don't use and save energy. The temperature is measured in the room where you install the thermostat, so it's always exactly as warm as you prefer. The disadvantage is that not every heating system is suitable for multi-zone.
