Liebherr calls this technology Duo Cooling. The biggest advantage is that there isn't any air exchange between the fridge and freezer compartment. This way, the cold air from the freezer won't dry out your fresh food. The fridge will also continue to work in an unheated room. You can control the fridge and freezer compartment separately.
