According to our external hard drive HDD expert
Power is supplied via the USB cable, so you don't need a power cord.
The drive offers extra physical protection of your data thanks to the shock sensor.
The USB 3.0 connection transfers large files in a few seconds.
In order to use the drive with macOS, you'll have to format it first.
The Toshiba Canvio Basics is a simple external hard drive suitable for daily use. The convenient 2.5-inch size makes it easy to take the drive anywhere and connect it to a laptop, desktop, smart TV, or router. The integrated sensor protects your hard drive from shocks and bumps, so that all your files are safe. In addition, the ramp-loading technology better protects the disk surface, so your drive lasts longer. Via plug-and-play, your drive works right away without having to install extra software. Moreover, thanks to the USB 3.0 connection you can transfer pictures, videos, backups, and other data ten times faster than over a slower USB 2.0 connection.

I don't know longevity yet. But such a product should still work for at least 7 years without any problems. I myself use it as an extra backup for my data which is on my 3TB large NAS. This is now working properly and as expected.
The order, shipping and receipt were completely in line with my expectations. Kept well informed when to expect my order. So it was not necessary to be present for a whole day or part of a day for reception
All in all, a satisfied customer!

Bought several because it always works, never breaks, never malfunctions. Only sometimes disappears when the USB port is moved because it is just a little too wide.
