You can easily transfer high resolution photos and 4K images to your Mac appliances, because the drive includes both a Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C to USB-A cable. Do you have a desktop with Windows 10 or newer? If you reformat the drive, you can connect to a Windows PC without problems. Via Time Machine or Windows Backup, you can make automatic copies, so you won't lose important data. With a total storage capacity of 18TB, you get enough storage space for about 1.8 million photos or 1800 Full HD movies of 2 hours.
